The new year on the traditional Chinese calendar starts in 2020 on January 25.

Welcome to the Year of the Rat!

We’re fortunate enough to live in an area full of chances to celebrate Spring Festival, and all of the special foods, sights, and traditions it brings.

So put on a new outfit (for a fresh new start!), and start the new year at one of these local events.

Lunar New Year Celebration

Come to the Charter Oak Library to celebrate and learn about the Lunar New Year with stories, arts and crafts, and refreshments. Parents: Please be aware that refreshments will be served at the program. A list of ingredients will be available. Co-sponsored by the Friends of West Covina Library on behalf of Charter Oak Library. Asian American Expo

Asian American Expo

The Asian American Expo is hosted at the beginning of each year to celebrate the coming of the Lunar New Year Festival, with the goal of recreating the New Year celebrations found across Asia at this time of the year. Food, shopping, entertainment and fun – these are all annual staples that can be found at each year’s event.
