All of LA County Is On TAPPosted September 17th, 2015
The TAP (Transit Access Pass) card is a reusable, reloadable electronic card that can hold all your bus passes and cash fares at once.
How far will you go with your TAP card?
We’re pleased to share some truly historic news about the TAP card! Foothill Transit is now one of 26 different transit agencies throughout Los Angeles County that use TAP cards. All 26 agencies have come together to create a regional fare card that serves the entire county. Whether you load your TAP card with cash or passes, your card can automatically pay any one of the 650 different fares on buses and trains from Lancaster to Long Beach. This is a first!
If you haven’t used TAP yet, try it out! It does so much more for you than cash can. It makes getting on the bus so much more quickly and easily than using cash. Your money and passes will never get lost if you register your card for free balance protection. Plus, it makes transferring between buses and agencies so easy. A transfer on TAP works exactly the same as a paper transfer, but without the little slip of paper to worry about. Next year, all transfers will be made using TAP cards.
You can load money onto your TAP card using cash, your bank account, or even a credit card. You can also store any kind of pass on it from any of the 26 participating transit agencies. To get a TAP card or to reload one you already have, you can always visit any of our five Transit Stores. You can also do everything online at taptogo.net or call 866.TAPTOGO (1.866.827.8646). There are many other vending locations throughout Los Angeles County. And now there are 6 new locations!
