Administrative Analyst

The Administrative Analyst is responsible for journey-level administrative, budgetary, human resources, policy development and analytical support.

Foothill Transit, the primary fixed-route transit provider in eastern Los Angeles County, California is seeking a highly qualified individual for the position of Administrative Analyst.  Foothill Transit’s mission is to be the premier public transit provider committed to safety, courtesy, quality, responsiveness, efficiency, and innovation.  We are an award-winning bus system with a fleet of over 370 vehicles and ridership exceeding 14 million annually.

This position is responsible for journey-level administrative, budgetary, human resources, policy development and analytical support.  In addition, this individual will perform a variety of duties supporting all of Foothill Transit’s activities.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Provides administrative support in one or more of the following areas, as assigned: budget preparation and administration, personnel administration, policy development, contract monitoring, and departmental duties
  • Conducts research and prepares reports, requiring compilation and analysis of data
  • Conducts forecasting analyses and studies
  • Develops program management, data tracking and other software applications
  • Develops and implements records maintenance and analysis systems
  • Monitors projects and programs
  • Performs and formulates financial, administrative, policy, and organizational analyses and recommendations
  • Other duties as assigned

Essential Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of theories, principles and practices of budget planning, design and administrative technical analysis
  • Mathematics and business statistics
  • Business and computer software applications
  • Ability to compile and analyze data
  • Understand, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, contracts, and budgets
  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Exercise judgment and creativity in making decisions
  • Think and act independently

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Business, Public Administration or other related field or equivalent experience
  • Two years experience performing basic or entry-level budgeting and administrative work
  • Master’s Degree is desirable

Salary Range:  Grade 5    $45,101 – $68,176
