Beginning Friday, October 24, 2008 and continuing through October 2010, the El Monte Busway will be shutting down every weekend for construction at 9PM on Friday and reopening the following Monday at 5AM. 

This will affect the Silver Streak stops at Cal State LA and USC Medical Center and the eastbound stop at Union Station – these three busway  stops will be closed during the weekends until construction is completed.

Alternate detour stops will be located at Cal State LA's Transit Center located on Circle Drive and near USC Medical Center on Kingston between Pomeroy and Marengo near the parking structure.  Eastbound customers at Union Station should use the stop located on the southwest corner of Aliso and Los Angeles, one block south west of Union Station.
